This time lapse video is always fun to watch. The Chicago River has been died green on St. Patrick’s day for the past 40 years, can’t say that I have seen it in person, but it’s amazing how they can do this.
I made Shamrock Shakes again this year. I was disappointed I was unable to find my favorite cookies this year. Hate when that happens 😦
I had so many of these last year, that I think I’m good this year 😉
Happy Pi Day!! If you don’t know what this is, check out my post here. Pi is a mathematical symbol that represents 3.14 followed by a string of numbers. Then there’s Pie…so it’s appropriate on Pi day to grab yourself a slice. I am totally slacking this year, and did not make a pie, I’ve been too busy searching for that hour we lost 😉 I’m sure I’ll find it sometime in November…here’s to a great week ahead!!
MOVIE REVIEW:
This was so worth watching!! For those of us who grew up on the Peanuts, and passed it down to our kids, this is such a great movie. It stays true to the original, fun, simple, good-natured laughs. I still love Snoopy!! This movie is really the Peanuts that we all love, but like in HD, since the animation is 3D. Worth the watch for the whole family. Elijah (15) even enjoyed it, and Benji was like, “there isn’t a bad thing to say about that movie.” He even mentioned how he liked how they stuck to the original, and didn’t add all that new junk to it.
LOL CHUCKLES, AND GIGGLES:
WHAT’S ON THE TV:
I still need to catch up on Castle, but Quantico, and Blindspot? Keeps us guessing. I hate that this is the final season for The Good Wife, the characters in this show are so funny!!
FAVORITE VIDEO FROM THE WEB:
Had to share this music video by Meghan Trainor. ❤ Love Meghan Trainor!! This was one of the songs in the Peanuts movie, and everything IS Better When I’m Dancin’.
This is one of my favorite posts, had a lot of fun researching for it. It isn’t until Monday, but wanted to share it as a reminder to get your pie ready!!
Today is Pi day!! This year it is extra special because it is 2015. You can really get crazy with it this year, at 9:26 and 53 seconds, either in the morning or the evening. We are just “celebrating” with a nice chocolate cream pie the boys and I made, the recipe is at the bottom.
But first…what is Pi and why the funny symbol?
The number π is a mathematical constant representing the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. It’s an irrational number, meaning that it can’t be represented by a common fraction. The decimal places never end, and they never settle into a permanent repeating pattern.
π is the Greek symbol for the letter “p.” It was taken from the Greek word for “perimeter.”
Now some fun facts about Pi:
The value of pi has now been calculated to more than two trillion decimal places.
Hey There!! Is it safe to say that spring is on its way? Well being that Sunday begins Daylight Savings Time (UGH!!), our days will definitely get longer, and the spring fever will be at an all time high. I think I’m ready for it now, plus it will bring us closer to flip-flop weather!! Have a great week!!
WHAT’S ON THE TV:
Qauntico is back!! Blindspot, The Good Wife, Castle. I have some catching up to do, haven’t had a chance to just veg out with some good shows.
RECIPE I HAVE TRIED:
I made these Hot Pockets, and they turned out pretty good, you could fill these with anything really.
FAVORITE VIDEO FROM THE WEB:
This is so clever. I love when someone comes up with a clever use for something we all have lying around the house.
FROM THE CAMERA:
So excited my daughter finally got a professional camera, there’s no stopping her now!!
Came across this link-up in my reader feed hosted by Part-Time Monster, and it sounded like fun so I decided to join in, hey…who doesn’t love a party?!?! For me, this will be especially fun to reintroduce some of my posts, since I started this blog 7 years ago. Because back then when a person visited my blog, you could literally hear the crickets chirping, and the sound of the howling wind as it blows aimlessly through a wide open space…and on occasion one would witness a lone tumbleweed ramble across the screen. Anniehow…I found this post, and it was such a nice stroll down memory lane for me, and it still makes me chuckle. I’ve dusted it off for ya, so here ya go.
If you’d like to link up, there is only one rule: the post you add must be at least 30 days old. The older, the better. Find the link-up here.
The original post was posted back in 2009, so my kids were much younger then. The twins (Joshua & Olivia had just turned 14), Elijah was 8 and Benji was 4.
The other day I was talking with the kids about going to the store. Olivia had received a shirt for her birthday that was the wrong size, so she needed to take it back. Benji then says, “Yeah, mom, I need to take my shirt back too, I don’t want it anymore.” If that wasn’t funny in itself, but I looked at the shirt that he was wearing, and I quickly calculated that it was about 12 years old!! It’s a red polo shirt with a black, grey and white stripe across the middle. I had to pull out a photo album to see if that was correct, 12 years? Yes, I have a picture of Joshua wearing it for his 2nd birthday and he wore it until he outgrew it, Elijah wore it, now Benji is wearing it. It’s still in good shape. But I had to laugh, wouldn’t it…
