I’m sorry. It’s all my fault. It seems I jinx the teams that I enthusiastically cheer for. But I took it too far with my Cubbies. I finally purchased a jersey, thinking how great it would be to have one to wear while they played in the World Series. The really sad part about all this is, I bought it online, so I actually don’t even have it yet 😦 It seems this might be an inherited trait. My mom told me that the Cubs would lose whenever she would bake cupcakes and decorate them with the Cubs logo. There were no cupcakes, so it must be the jersey…or the lack thereof.
Nonetheless, it was a great year, and I’m all ready for next year 🙂
PS: The Bears haven’t played well since I got my Bears Snuggie…I know…I’m truly sorry!!
Nice warm sunny day…looks like we’ve got some Indian Summer out here, I’ll take it. It was pretty chilly the last couple of days. Have a wonderful week!!
WHAT I’M READING/HAVE READ:
I’m starting a new Susan Mallery series, it’s one of her older ones I haven’t read yet. I know it will be good, everything I have read of hers is good. It’s the The Buchanan Saga, and book one is called Delicious.
NEW RECIPE I WANT TO TRY:
This.
LOL CHUCKLES, AND GIGGLES:
ON THE TV:
Cubs lost the last two games, they play the next 3 in Chicago, #LetsGoCubs!! Blindspot, Castle, The Good Wife!! Quantico looks like a good series too, don’t know that I would have time to catch up on the episodes I missed so far, but it does look good.
CREATIVE CORNER:
My son Elijah has been creating custom Lego mini figures, and I wanted to share them with you. He’s 14 and he’s a big guy, and it amazes me how he can do such detailed work on these tiny figures. He paints designs on them, cuts up fabric and attaches it to them. He uses pieces of pop cans, modeling clay, and magnets. He has found some other guys on YouTube doing this as well, and they are how he got started doing this. You can view my son’s YouTube channel here.
🙂 He’s the mini figure in the blue shirt, lol. He came up with the idea to display them in this plastic storage drawer he found at Walmart, which I thought was such a clever idea. It’s all see through so they can be viewed by all angles, and when he needs to get to one he slides the drawer out and can get to them easily.
This is just a fun waste of time thing to do, lol. I was supposed to be doing some work one day, and jumped on Facebook “real quick” before I got started and came across this. I love Snoopy and cannot wait until the movie comes out.
MOVIE REVIEW:
The whole family watched this the other night. With the twins hardly home this was no small feat. I LOVE the Avengers!! There’s nothing like an action packed movie with Super Heros, not to mention the dry humor from all the characters is the best. This one was good, because they included the personal life of a couple of the characters in the storyline. Two thumbs up!!
NEW RECIPE I TRIED THIS WEEK/RECIPE TO SHARE: I had forgotten about this recipe and made it some time ago. This is really good on toast, and is probably good on bagels too…if you like that sort of thing 🙂
Roadhouse Cinnamon Butter
1 stick of Butter (room temp, soft) ¼ cup powdered sugar ¼ cup of natural honey 1 tblsp ground cinnamon
Mix all together and store in the fridge. Use a jar with a lid, or a soft margarine dish.

Cubs games when they play!! Blindspot, Castle, The Good Wife!!
THIS MAKES ME HAPPY:
All day breakfast at McDonald’s!!
WHAT I’M CREATING:
Finally set some time aside to work on my calligraphy. With a hot cuppa coffee, Pandora streaming my favorite tunes in my earbuds, I lost track of time, even though my fingers were aching. This is after several hours, practicing two of my favorite quotes, and this is just one style of letters. The Round Lettering with the brush pens is going to take a whole lot more practice, but I am determined to learn that technique as well. Eventually want to add all those swirly thingamajigs around the words, but needed to start somewhere 🙂
FAVORITE PHOTO FROM THE CAMERA:
This is my favorite spot in the park by the lake. On the other side are stone steps that go up and down and are built into the hill.
Can’t believe it’s October already. Enjoying the nice fall weather, it has been pretty chilly the last couple of days. I guess it’s time to put the flip-flops away. Have a great week.
CURRENTLY READING/HAVE READ:
Still reading Bliss and the Art of Forever by Alison Kent. It’s very good, enjoying the in depth descriptions of the chocolate making!! 🙂
NEW RECIPE I TRIED THIS WEEK/RECIPE TO SHARE:
Nothing new that I have tried, need to get back at it. Will be adding Chili and Beef Stew to my menu plan this week. Nice warm, comfort food!!

FAVORITE VIDEO/BLOG POST:
My last Blogbattle story was reminiscent of Back to the Future, and Rachael Ritchey reminded me that this is the month and year when they actually travel to in the movie (the second one). I think we’ll have to watch these movies, that actual date is October 21, 2015 (I watched the official trailer, lol). Definitely calls for a movie marathon, or at least the first two episodes, I’m not crazy about the 3rd one, Western’s aren’t my thing. Anniehow…I had forgotten about this in the movie!! Yeah…the Cubbies haven’t won the World Series in 107 years…here’s why…and yeah…I’m not going to say much more, I don’t want to jinx it…*whispers quietly* we are almost there *fingers crossed*
