Day 23: Favorite Christmas Story

Day 23

Linking up for Blogmas 2014…25 Days of Christmas…winding down.  It’s 50 degrees today 😐

“The Elves and the Shoemaker”

I don’t know if this is an actual Christmas story, but it does have elves in it 🙂  This story encompasses the true spirit of Christmas of giving and helping one another.  It’s also a story about shoes…and shoes make me happy. 🙂 (ooohhh…especially these cute little lace-up deals on the cover…lol)

Also have to include Linus’ version of the Christmas story.  Linus was always my favorite, because of his blanket…which may or may not have had anything to do with the fact that I carried my blanket well past the age one would deem appropriate. 😉

Merry Christmas Adam!!

(as my dad would say…it’s actually a thing…you can Google it, lol)

Day 21: Favorite Christmas Poem or Picture

Day 21

Linking up for Blogmas 2014…25 Days of Christmas. Because I LOVE Christmastime… Snow is in the forecast!! 🙂

This picture was taken in 2010, and is the last photo we took of us all together.  When this was posted on Face Book my brother (on my right) summed it up in his comment:  Wow what a great photo!!! Everyone in one shot! That’s rarer than a unicorn sighting!!!

At the time my sister and parents both lived in the town we grew up in, I was south of them in Illinois, my brother on the left was north of them in Illinois (the farthest away) and my other brother was east of them in Indiana. We weren’t extremely far from one another like some families are, but still difficult to get us all together at one time, especially on the holidays.  This is one of my favorites especially now that my dad is no longer with us.

CHOCOLATE!!

You can’t go wrong with chocolate.  Here are a few of my favorite chocolatiers such as Ghirardelli, Frango, Fanny May, Lindt, Ferrero Rocher, Andes,  Hershey’s, Reese’s. #chocoholic

even Hot Chocolate…

A nice holiday mug with a packet of hot chocolate, some chocolates and a candy cane is sure to warm the heart on a cold winters day.

Chocolate. Diamonds!!  Enough said. 😉

Day 19: Preparing for Christmas

Day 19

Linking up for Blogmas 2014…25 Days of Christmas. Because I LOVE Christmastime…not even a flurry 😐

The only thing I have left to prepare for Christmas is wrapping the gifts.  My daughter (19) and I head up this department, and set up a gift wrapping station somewhere in the house, and we wrap away.  Her and I love to make the gifts look nice.  She already wrapped all the gifts for her friends, since she is having her get-together this weekend.  They are too big to fit under the tree, because there are several stuffed animals waiting to break free of these beautiful bags to stretch out and breathe.  🙂 #nevertooold

In the midst of all the preparations, it’s good to take some time to just relax and have fun as well.  I found some more characters doing just that, and joining in the fun with the townspeople.

I thought they were friendlies…but then things turned hostile.  They probably realized they had no business just having fun with all the things that needed to get done…and then just snapped.

Remember…in the midst of all the preparations, take time to breathe….relax….and enjoy.  After all, it is the most wonderful time of the year!!
