Happy Homemaker Monday 07.04.16

Happy 4th of July!! This is/was a big weekend for me. Saturday, I had my 30th High School Reunion.  Had a blast catching up with some old friends.  We had a small class, so you knew everyone, and even after all these years, we all just picked up right where we left off.

Today is also my Benji’s birthday!! He’s my youngest and turns 11 today. He has informed me that after today, he will be called Ben.  😥 my heart. It won’t be long before he joins rank in the land of giants, with my other two tall boys!!  See fun pics below.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and, and enjoy the upcoming week!!

This book. Get it on Amazon. By fellow blogger, Dan Alattore.

thenavigatorsfinalWhat drew me to this book was the cover, then to find out it’s about archaeology students on a dig who unearth a time machine!?!? I had to read it. I have always been intrigued by archaeology. This book grabs you from the beginning and doesn’t let go until the. very. last. line. Dan Alattore is an exceptional writer, the details, feelings and wit in this story draw you in, and you feel like you are right there with each character. His characters are true to life, some lovable some not so much.

It has all the ingredients for a great summer read. A suspenseful time travel story, seasoned with entertaining characters, and peppered with a little romance, what’s not to love!! This story makes you really think about the possibility of time travel, and is done in such a way that I haven’t seen done before. I look forward to reading this book again, it’s one of those stories that I’m sure I will find some detail that I missed the first time, and will enhance the story even more.

Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding

Been wanting some bread pudding, what do you think about this one Carrie? This looks incredibly delicious!!

This is one of my favorite parts of the 4th.  These planes fly over the beginning of the parade.  This is our flag and the flag from the Library across the street.  What a sweet job this would be, just flying around on the 4th.  It may be a small town, but we do the fourth big!!

  1. Hey Sweetheart!! Life has been fun – although too cray cray (my kids hate when I say that – Lol!!!) for my liking. The holiday weekend was wonderful, but jam packed! And I have sports tourneys and a family reunion coming up soon. Busy busy busy – tis summer in my life. ::sigh:: Looks like you had a lovely holiday as well!
So anyhow, I’m still playing catch up everywhere…even though I’d love to just spend hours with my bloggy friends and send you a gigantic info packed email. Hopefully soon! I’d love to know what’s been really up with you lately Lady. 🙂

I think that bread pudding sounds delightful!! I think banana and chocolate just “go”. Such a yummy combo!

And happy birthday to Ben!!! (I happen to LOVE that name Mom, so Benji or Ben it’s all good). 😉 And did I ever mention Annie was very close to being named Olivia?? However it was going to be Alivia to go with this whole alliteration problem I have (so it would fit with Aaron). 😛
Your kiddos are so beautiful! Great job Mom!!

OH and I just gotta say – CAREBEARS!!! SQUEAL! YAY!! But I’m a Carrie nerd that way, as you well know.

Blessings on the rest of your week Babes. xoxo
