About

Hi there, my name is Carrie Ann.  I am a home school mom, virtual assistant/bookkeeper, and writer/blogger.  I have been home schooling my children from the beginning.  My twins, Joshua and Olivia have graduated, and are navigating their life as young adults, as they embark on their journey as 20-year olds.  Elijah is a teenager and in high school, and Benji is my youngest, his birthday is on the 4th of July.  My kids are basically 5 years apart, not really planned that way, just how it happened.

I have recently begun considering myself a writer.  This past year I started writing fictional short stories for the first time.  Writing is something I have wanted to do for a long time.  I can remember when I was really young, that I wanted to be a writer.  (My mom says I wanted to be a check-out girl, or a baton twirler, umm…yeah…don’t quite remember that).  I was so fascinated by the writers portrayed on TV or in the movies.  Sitting at their desks with their typewriters, a fresh stack of paper, and a trash can full of crumpled paper, as they began to write their novel.  I also enjoy physically writing, which I don’t think many people do anymore.  One of my first jobs was at a local store that delivered newspapers to everyone.  Every month, bills had to be sent out for people to make payments.  These bills were handwritten.  While the other girls I worked with dreaded doing it, I looked forward to it.  This store also sold office supplies.  Another one of my favorites.  I love pens, notebooks, and CRAYONS!  I can’t wait to buy school supplies for the kids.  When my kids get new crayons, I’ll sit with them and color, I find it so relaxing.

I’m excited to continue to share my fictional works with you, or just blog about whatever. I hope that you will find some helpful information, comfort or encouragement, things to make you laugh, ideas that make you think, or an escape into a short story filled with some fun characters.

I look forward to hearing from you.  Feel free to post your comments, or email me at anniehow@ymail.com.

  2. I was homeschooled through high school and will probably end up homeschooling if/when I have kids in the future.
I love to write by hand too! There’s a very relaxing and natural feel to it!
Anywho, your blog looks great! Can’t wait to see more posts! 🙂

    • Thanks for stopping by Claire. I don’t know many people who were actually home schooled, just know the mom’s who do it. I have made it a point to teach my kids cursive, I don’t think schools do that anymore. As much as I enjoy it, it was painstakingly challenging to teach it, I have 3 boys, one who is left handed. Watching them at first drawing the letters instead of flowing was difficult, lol.

      • I remember that process! lol! I like writing in cursive, but I’m afraid I don’t use it so much anymore.
It’s mostly girls in my family, but we all combined to drive my mom crazy during school time. 🙂
